Yule and then Christmas this year were, in the absence of any drunken family members or indecisive boythings, pretty much made of win. Not in the least because of presents!

The haul:

-waffle maker
-mario batali risotto pan
-slow cooker because pieces from my crockpot went missing
-frilly apron
-antique mixing bowls with adorable little handles
-powder blue electric mixer
-coffee mug that says "so much to do, so few people to do it for me"
-adorable tea set with cups that might work for hobbits, lol
-'brandy' perfume
-bare minerals 'ruby' collection (RED GLITTER MASCARA AH)
-stila loves sephora kit
-16 pair shoe tree (I'll need about ten more of these to do any good, but hey! xD)
-more bath stuff than i know what to do with
-cd: 'glittermouth' - abby travis (former kmfdm frontwoman)
-cd: 'all we know is falling' - paramore

Annnd, seperately, bookhaul!:

-tales of beedle the bard
-toolbox for sustainable city living: a do-it-ourself guide
-roses of blood on barbwire vines" (zombie/vampire novel!!)
-sunglasses after dark (more cowbell vampire novel xD)
-french women for all seasons- a year of secrets, recipes and pleasures (lol)
-city chic- an urban girl's guide to living large on less (loool)
-and still 2 more books with that whole 'how to be a woman' theme, haaaaa.
-house magic- the good witch's guide to bringing grace to your space

Omg, I'm so spoiled. :D I would never have let it show, but the last couple of years have been kind of disappointing, present-wise, in the sense that Jackie was trying to buy me presents she thought I should like, rather than ones that suited my personality. This year everyone seems to have resigned themselves to the fact that, despite all attempts to raise me to be some kind of tough, athletic, tool-saavy femnazi career woman, I've turned out to be a totally domestic gender stereotype. xD

I also spent a long, long time this year trying to pick out the perfect presents for everyone, to great success. Everyone seemed very happy with their gifts, which was intensely gratifying. Jackie and I also sat down and donated to this charity that helps women in third-world countries start their own businesses, which I thought was a terribly cool idea.

So yeah! The day was just... nice, over all. Basically all we did was eat! We had a huge breakfast of kraut runsas, eggs and bacon, and then spent most of it baking cookies and thennn made dinner-- beef wellington, garlic parmesan mashies, candied yams, cucumber salad and asparagus, yum! Got to spend lots of time talking to some dear friends and loving on all the family puppies. No one fought, no one called to be nasty (Kathy, my dad), no one made anyone cry...it was very mellow and unghetto, haha. Yay.

And it just keeps getting better! Highlander marathon on Sci-Fi today! Whooo!

..Ahem. Anyway. Hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas filled with as much good food, rad presents and nondrama as mine! Flist love! :D
