Time to T!
DBSK's fans ALL know what I'm talking about, I'm sure! Yeah, T! T is the rulling letter now!
You know, I really didn't expect myself to be talking like this now about their 3rd japanese album, but I am. I shouldn't have underestimated them... but you know what, I rather be impressed at something I wasn't expecting for than to be disappointed about an overly anticipated release. So now I can say....
OMG WHAT A GREAT ALBUM!!!
There's not a single thing to be complained about this album. It has a LOT of new songs, which is already amazing!! I mean, I'm used to AAA so I KNOW what's being disappointed by new albums. I really don't know how nor I can believe Avex allowed them to do sucha good job. Thumbs up for Avex this time! I'm so proud of my boys... but I'm also worried, I don't know... they are being pushed VERY hard, and although they are having an excelent return *as in sales and popularity*, I'm just TOO WORRIED about them. I don't like seeing my boys with bags under their pretty eyes and smiling forcefully to the cams. I want them HEALTHY!!!! Please T___T They need rest now, after the album promotion! But who knows what comes after this!!! That '5 singles in 5 weeks' thing seems not to be discarded yet! But NO! A BIG NO FOR THIS CRAZYNESS! They don't need this anymore, Japan is already well aware of them!
Aside this matter, I'm really happy for their work. New styles came with the new songs, and I can assure they succeeded, it was totally worthy to try some new stuff like distorting voices and adding new sounds to the songs! The result is an intense album that will make you want to listen to it over and over again! It's almost like adrenaline!
I can't help the urge to review the songs, even the ones already released in previous singles XD And so I'll do it!
CD1
Trick:
This is definitely new, like, american pop? Okay not that american pop's something new but that's how it sounds to my ears, and I never thought I'd compare their music with american pop. Still, it's better XD *sighs in relief* It's a good song generally speaking. Not a masterpiece but not a disaster either. Well, there will be NEVER a disastrous song from them, I guess *not even Together was a complete disaster IMO, but I won't talk about it now XD* so, I give it a 7. There are interesting elements in the song, that are worth the try.
NO?:
Something about this song seems to please me to no end. Still something new to me, but in a better way than in Trick, for example. The new style suits their voices, even exploring their vocals a bit *very very tiny bit tho*. But you know, I haven't figured out what's so funny about making Yunho's voice sound like a stifled woman's. Have you? Well, I give this song a 9. Yeah, a 9! It's catchy in a way but not annoying at all! Smooth and easy to listen and to like.
Purple Line:
SO, Purple Line! This song have caused such an uproar when its single was released, I was actually impressed by people's reactions over it! Everyone seemed to like it a lot, tho, but I... well, I confess I like it better now than when I first listened to it. If there's a sample of new style to be mentioned out of all the new songs, Purple Line's definitely one of the most meaningful! I don't know, it's a new style that sounds like their previous stuff! Do you feel the same way about it? It's even hard to explain... I guess the point is: it's a song that sounds DBSK-ish. AND I guess I know the reason: I found out that Purple Line was originally written and meant to be a KOREAN release, but instead they released the japanese version first! There's even a leaked version of korean's Purple Line out, and I've listened to it. Needless to say, it's way more natural, mainly the weird rap part. So, I ask again, WHAT is so funny about making Yunho sound like a... well, I allow you to mentally insert the adjective that most pleases you. Back to the reviewing... I give it an 8. To the jap. version. The korean version deserves a 9,5, because the rap part is still weird, in both.
Forever Love:
A good song, I guess it just comply with the purpose of a ballad song. It does not explore their vocals like it could *except maybe for Changmin but then again, nothing we wouldn't expect from him or from any of the others*. It's very pop-ish, I am not fond of songs like that. They are too common, but Forever Love is still a DBSK ballad song and as such, it couldn't be BAD. I give it a 7,5.
Summer Dream:
There's no way one won't like this song. It's a really catchy and cheerful hit, I've liked it a lot since its release! It really makes me feel warm as if enjoying a summer day! I still want to try listening to it at the beach XD It must be an awesome blue feeling! hahahaha It deserves a 10, of course!
Ride on:
I couldn't be happier that they've included this song in the album. I love it to death, how I WISH it had a PV for us to drool over it! I'm still hopeful there will be a performance for it in their next concert! I'm sure it'll be VERY drool-worthy *____* The song itself is also very catchy and sensual, it's the perfect soundtrack for a lemon scene, for example XDD *as I've experienced when reading Mischief Deities....* I give it a 10 too, surely!
Btw, you can ask yourself now "Why does she give 10 to songs like Ride on and Summer Dream and only 7,5 to a ballad like Forever Love?!" It's simple. Every song has its purposes, they are meant to make you feel like this or like that when you listen to it. Songs like Summer Dream and Ride on does not require powerful vocals, high notes, strong sustaining and the likes. They only need to cheer you up/make you feel good, that's all. Ballads like Forever Love OUGHT TO impress you, touch you or even make you cry, which are neither the cases here. Most of all, show off the vocal potency of who's singing, which is not the case either. So... yeah, 7,5.
DARKNESS EYES:
This was surely one of the most awaited new songs since its preview leaked out. Many people thought this would turn into their favorite new song. Well, I don't know about them but it didn't happen to me. It's a great song, tho, it kinda reminds me of Miss You, which I love btw. DARKNESS EYES could've been better IMO, but I have a feeling it'll grow in me soon. For now, I give it a 9. I like the dark elements of this song! It really gives you this eerie feeling, like something suspenseful in a movie... lol what am I talking about XD
Lovin' You:
I love this song, period. Just love it, for no specific reason I think, or at least not that I've searched for a reason. It just pleases me, as for their vocals such as for the harmony in general... it's just a VERY GOOD and sentimental song! 10 all the way!! ^___^
Rainbow:
Oh, guess what? My fav new song from this album!!! GEEZ THERE'S JUST SOMETHING ABOUT THIS SONG!! SOMETHING SO GOOD I CAN'T EXPLAIN!!!! It gives me peace!!! I feel SO GOOD listening to it!!!! Like something sparkling and happy!! lol maybe that's why the song's called Rainbow? Now that I think of it.... XDD Well anyways, this song is pure awesomeness, everything is GREAT in it! Their voices, the harmony, the elements, the feeling... I would give it a 11 if I could! Or a 100 or a 1000!!!!! *squee*
SHINE:
I like SHINE, but I've always liked Ride on better XDD Once again, SHINE sounds too pop-ish to me... but it's not a bad song at all ^^ I give it a 9 too for its happiness~
LAST ANGEL -Tohoshinki ver-:
... XDDDD I admit I totally cracked up when I first listened to it!! HAHAHAHAHA Of COURSE it would be up to Jae and Junsu to make up for Kuu-chan's voice! XDD Sometimes even to Changmin! But what can I say! IT'S STILL SO GOOD!!! I LOVED THIS VERSION JUST AS MUCH AS THE ONE WITH KUU-CHAN!!!! PURE AWESOMENESS!!!! They covered up her voice VERY well, as crackastic as it may sound in the beginning, it turned out GREAT! The little modifications they made fitted the song very well, I loved!!! It's definitely 10+++++++++!!!!!!!
CLAP!:
This is my second fav among the new songs!! The chorus is just so strong it brimms my eyes with tears of awe! Again, because of Changmin's voice..... *sighs* -> *really sighs* It's a song you won't know how great it is unless you fully listen to it! And the more you listen the more you like it!! It's addicting!!! WAH I LOVE TO FANGIRL LIKE THIS ABOUT A SONG!!! I don't know why but it reminds me of AAA boys' only songs! hahahaha It's somewhat alike! But way better I'd say *sorry AAA boys.... being honest here...* It's catchy in an overly pleasant way! I wouldn't mind to keep mentally listening to it all day long, mainly the chorus!!! Definitely one of the best tracks!! 10 10 10 10 10!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Love in the Ice:
What can I say about this song. Well, since the release of "Summer Dream/Song for You/Love in the Ice" single, I was sure this was one of their best songs ever. As time went by, I only had more and more sure about this. THIS IS ONE OF THEIR BEST SONGS EVER, AND UNDOUBTEDLY THEIR BEST JAPANESE SONG UNTIL NOW and I don't think there'll be a better one anytime soon. This song has EVERYTHING. EVERYTHING IS AMAZING IN THIS SONG!!! The sentiment is so intense!!!! The vocals are exceptionally IMPRESSING!! They more than ever sing with PASSION, which is something that lacks in most of their japanese songs. The live performances of this song are something to die for. Well, I have no words to describe this song, you certainly feel it yourself when you listen to it, right? So... 100000000000000000000000+++++++++++!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! *dies*

...XDDDD This song cracks me up when I remember a sucint review my friend gave it. His words: "We're friends, I love you, you love me and we're happy like that" XDDDDD ROFL That's pretty much it!!! It's a cute song despite what many people say! Well, at least IMO XD I learned to like it eventually hahahaha It has some interesting elements in it, and is also catchy although it can be annoying after some time. I give it an 8 ^^;

This is also a song of easy listening, very smooth, it flows inside your ears and makes you feel... placid. Yeah, I like this feeling, this is why I give it a 9 ^^ This was a whole great single wasn't it?! ^_____^

Waah what a great song! Yes its japanese version is as great as the original, and you won't see me saying this too often lol They also sing it with their heart, so I guess that's just enough to make the song great!! The song is so intense and powerful! 10 all the way too!
Beautiful Life:
How not to remember of JaeJoong listening to his IPod, back in the days when he had his angelically beautiful black hair.... *sighs* Good old times, which were beautifully brought back with this version! It came out very good, just like the original! *i'm saying this again?? wow* I only give it a 9 because the original is irreplaceable. hahaha
You're my Miracle:
NYAH. This is one of my favs in their "O" album..... but no, the original is even MORE irreplaceable! Although the vocals are pretty much the same, I don't know... I'm just too used to the korean version... wah this will be a biased review T__T but I give it only 7,5..... *hides in shame* I like the original too much.....
Kiss Shita Mama, Sayonara:
This song is.... wow. The piano, the vocals, the... passion in it. They all combine to form a WONDERFUL song. Being it the last from the 2nd disc and also the album, we are left with a feeling that... DBSK is just wonderful. Whatever they sing, whatever is the style of the song, whether it requires powerful vocals or not.... they can make everything sound wonderful. And if needed, they can take you to such a high level of amazement that will make you... well I don't know but I feel like in ecstasy. Their voices can do that to me, and this song only reinforces it. So much emotion T_____T WHY ARE YOU SO GREAT DBSK, WHY????? 10 OF COURSE!!!!!!! *faints*
