This really got my attention this morning--it'd be nice if, because it's so damned expensive to pay for an education, administrators made alternative, less expensive forms of alternative education (like biking!) at least something that wasn't bound to get you killed. My partner was lucky enough to come out of an accident like the one in this article with a mere neck fracture and 8 weeks in a neck brace last fall and, while it was not on the U of M campus, there's obviously a trend here. More and more bikers, and we're still riding in the same old bike lanes which, maybe, maybe if we're lucky at least get repainted every couple of years. We're making do with the substandard, and we need to raise our voices--send a letter to MNDoT, talk to your U of M department heads. Speak for those who have been silenced.
