So, like, you know how they're totally kicking me out of my current job? For absolutely no reason except that they wanted a reshuffle and have no ability to plan whatsoever?
Well, turns out I totally don't care.
Because I just got offered the best job. Like, evar. OMG. It's as a technical writer, and it pays more than double what I'm getting now. Turns out they were kind of impressed with me, even the interview which I seriously thought I'd bollocksed up worse than anything, and I'm totally getting a job! A proper job, with real responsibility, that uses my skills that I actually have and OMG!
!!!
It's such a relief.
Also, to steal someone else's post, because I'm not sure I have enough exclamation marks left on my keyboard to convey my excitement,
this is what I did at uni last night. Especially touching the old 13th century manuscript that was handwritten on vellum and... guh. That's what I did last night. Old books.... and the best collection of rare gay and lesbian books I've ever seen.
darthbessie, you so should have been there...
I love my course.
Ooh, and did I mention that the new job actually has paid study leave, and will pay me to leave early to go to uni? Because it does. And it even counts as editing experience towards the 3 years you usually need to get on the freelance rolls of most publishing companies! Eee.
I suddenly don't feel like quite so much of a failure :)
