Watching Murders in the Rue Morgue, and went outside for teh smokage, and lo, what did I discover? A colony of fucking bats that has taken up residence in a nearby tree and which spends its nights circling our house looking for food. (Bats are not particularly common in this area, I might add. Unheard of, even.)
Of course I have now become the subject of all sorts of goth- and bat-related jokes.
