Things that are good in life.

by kai_z.

1) Ummmmm... people? Even though I don't see many of them these days. Well, not the good ones, at least. :P

2) Mike Leigh movies. I admit it. I'm utterly enthralled. Sure, I watched Naked for the David Thewlis, but after watching it, I just had to watch it again, forgetting about the Thewlis, and just being utterly amazed at how real, how downplayed it was, how so much could be said without saying anything at all. It's all that I love about British movies. The pathos, and the sheer lack of hope or resolution or sympathetic characters (Johnny's superficial similarities to a certain person notwithstanding... *slight shudder*). Mmm. Antihero. And the other day I caught All Or Nothing, and I didn't know it was a Mike Leigh movie until he did that thing with the music, and it was brilliant, also, and so terribly, horribly depressing in such a real way, and yet so human and bittersweet-wonderful. And now I fear I'm going to have to hunt down all of his other movies and watch them all repeatedly. <333333 *is too broke for this*

3) $22 half-seasons of Buffy and Angel on DVD. *is too broke for this* *purchases*

4) Listening to 'Corporate Slave' by Snog repeatedly while sitting in my car before work. And while this is most likely not conducive to a positive experience in supermarket land, it is somehow satisfying, and amuses me enough to get me through the shift without resorting to stabbings. Usually...

5) One week of Science degree to go! Ever!!! Wheee!!! assuming I pass, that is...

...
Also, beginning to have a teensy bit of trouble with this group-theory maths subject, which sucks. It's all so abstract, and it's so hard to work out how to prove anything when there are no specifics whatsoever. Grrrrrr. And it doesn't help that whenever I see g o f (x) (composition of functions) I can't help but think of Goblet of Fire. Bah. Too much fandom, methinks...
