A Walk to Remember by Nicholas Sparks
Book Review
I give the book a 5/5!
Yet another book by Nicholas Sparks that had me in tears. I think if things go the way they are, every book I read by him will end up making me cry...He's such a tragic romantic. lol
and when I say tragic I mean...
But of course I already knew what was going to happen cause I had seen the movie first but still I was just sooo...omfg
Sparks' writing style is perfect throughout every book I've ever read and even though this was shorter than The Last Song...I was still captivated. It only took me a day to read this book because I don't even think I put it down.
Oh and as for the characters...I think it's amazing how different people react to someone they've known their whole lives as soon as they hear something horrible is wront with them. Then comes the flowers and the "I'm sorry's." And it so true too because I remember people that didn't even like me were bending over backwards to make me feel better when my Dad got diagnosed and then again when he actually died. Now those people don't even talk to me anymore.
Figures.
So happy though that Landon did what he did in the end....and just everything made my heart happy...except for the death but there's nothing that could have been done for the poor girl. Not in those times.
I also think it's strange that in the movie they didn't keep it accurate in time setting with the book. Because the whole thing takes place in the late 50's while the Movie is present time. But I guess it doesn't really matter. It's just a minor detail.
*I like the 50's though* :(
I strongly reccomend this book...especially if you like Novels by Nicholas Sparks and you haven't read this yet. It's worth it. Especially if you like a good bawl....
