BOOK REVIEW
THE IRON DAUGHTER - JULIE KAGAWA

BOOK RATING : 5/5!

I'm really loving how this series is going. I started out not being so sure but a few chapters into this one I can see things are getting more and more complicated...and I LOVE complicated! It's very obvious at the end that Meghan is going to end up ruling the Iron Fey because when she killed Machina, his power went into her. Now she suddenly has control over iron things and while she had it in her hand, she was able to make the scepter work right away. AND SHE SAVED ASH!

Leaninsidhe was a nice addition. I don't like the fact that she has Meghan's father under her spell but otherwise I love her character. When she speaks I can actually hear her voice in my head and I just start laughing. I wonder if the writer imagined her voice in the same way cause it sure as heck cracks me up.

Rowan and Virus, the two evil characters in the book, made my skin crawl. Rowan because he betrayed his own flesh and blood to become an iron fey and even killed his own flesh and blood to do it. Virus because she put a bug in Ash and tried to kill him very slowly in the most agonizing way possible while simultaneously making him attack Meghan and her family. I'm glad it was Ash that took her out in the end...so fitting!

The forbidden love between Meghan and Ash was almost too much. I felt like the two would never have any peace because Ash was trying to push her away which made Meghan think he didn't love her in the first place. But, of course, at the very end Ash finally makes up his mind and is exiled for choosing Meghan over his family. Of course, Meghan follows him into exile and chooses him over her family as well! LOVE WINS! HA!

I felt really bad for Puck though in this one. He confesses his love to Meghan but, even though she loves him too, she loves Ash more and has to leave Puck behind. It really isn't fun being the third wheel in a love triangle. If it were me, I'd probably choose Puck. But that's cause I've always had a thing for guys that can make me laugh. I'd choose him in a heartbeat!

The book ends with both Meghan and Ash in exile so I'm really curious as to how they're going to get back into Faery because it's obvious that Meghan is supposed to take over the Iron Fey...even if she doesn't know it yet. Perhaps they'll move to Leaninsidhe's between realm and find some way back. Either way, I'm very curious about what comes next!
