BOOK REVIEW
HOT SIX - JANET EVANOVICH

BOOK RATING : 5/5

This book was probably the first one of the Stephanie Plum series that was so loaded with unfulfilled sexual chemistry that even I was getting frustrated. Poor Stephanie had two guys who want her bad but still...she kept getting interrupted. Although if it came down to a competition between Ranger and Morelli I'm gonna stick with my opinion that Stephanie and Morelli belong together so I can have Ranger all to myself. Ha!

Stephanie seemed to be in more danger than usual in this book. She had thugs galore following her everywhere and trying to end her life or torture her or do other unspeakable things that would absolutely destroy her. Not only that, but she also got shot...AGAIN. And she wasn't even TRYING to get involved in the danger then. It just seems like danger always find that poor girl now that she's a bounty hunter. I can see why her mother wants her to work in a button factory.

The addition of the golden retriever Bob was a welcome change to the series. It's looking like it's either gonna be Stephanie's now or Morelli's or maybe they'll share him or something. He is quite a stupid dog though. He eats everything...even non-edibles like the seats from a car. I have to say the funniest part of the book was when he ate Stephanie's grandmother's prunes and then when Michell and Habib were trying to kidnap the poor thing...he pooped and threw up in their car. Good thing was, they totally deserved it.

As far as her FTA's go it was quite interesting to see her take on someone that wasn't so easy to apprehend for a change. Mooner was obviously easy money but Munson was a psycho who slipped away from her by setting her on fire or shooting at her or trying to run her down with a car. They way he was apprehended was pretty hilarious though. If I'd been a cop at the station when Stephanie brought Munson in but naked and covered with soap and water I'd be laughing my butt off too. The trekkie apprenshion was hilarious....trekkies really will do anything for their fellow Star Trek worshipers. That's exactly why I'm proud to be a Star Wars fan. We'd never go crazy and start throwing food at people just because they're apprehending someone who's dressed like Yoda. Come on dudes, be cool.

The big theme of this particular book seemed to be the mystery behind Ranger Manoso. Even though deep down I knew Ranger was innocent, there was still a flicker of doubt that made me wonder if he had killed Homer in self-defense but covered it up anyway or something. As it turns out though, Homer set up his "fake death" by killing some poor guy and making it look like he had been popped by Ranger. Sick and twisted, I tell ya. But I am very happy my doubts weren't confirmed. Ranger's awesome!

Mooner and Dougie were worth a lot of laughs. They had frequent little mishaps that put them right in the middle of all the action and yet they turned out just fine. I love that Stephanie kept the fact that they were the ones that ended up with Stolle's money a secret from the cops.I really hope that Stolle and his thugs don't eventually find out but if they don't, then Mooner and Dougie will stop having to worry about trying to stay afloat. I definitely admire Stephanie for doing that for them

Even though I believe Morelli only said that he'd marry Stephanie because he wanted his mom and grandma to leave him alone so he could be alone with her, it was gratifying to hear him tell her that he loves her without anybody forcing it out of him. He was so afraid when she got shot that it was obvious the poor guy would be in absolute shambles if she ever died. I bet he'll eventually get over his fear of settling down and truly ask her to marry him.

This book was so entertaining like every Stephanie Plum book before it. It's full of action, comedy, mystery, drama, and a LOT of romance. I have to cheer on Stephanie no matter what because even though she can be a little ditsy when it comes to apprehending her FTA's she does seem to have quite a brain on her when it comes to crime-solving. So this is me hoping that Stephanie Plum, Bounty hunter will someday turn into Stephanie Plum, Private Investigator. Read the series...because it's just athat good!
