BOOK REVIEW
THE INDIGO SPELL - RICHELLE MEAD

I happily give this book a 5 out of 5 stars!

I'm so glad I finally got to read this! It's the third in the Bloodlines series so if anyone else is curious to read it, read the other two first. Bloodlines and The Golden Lily. The book starts off with me very very angry at Sydney for walking away from Adrian but ends with me very very happy at her for choosing him over a trip to Mexico. I wanted to shake her throughout the majority of the book because she kept finding reasons that she couldn't be with him or telling Adrian that he had to keep his distance because the two of them would never work. She got so frustrating sometimes!

I love all the magic in this book. Even though there's a horrible new character that will definitely be going after Sydney soon thanks to the major can of whoopass she threw at her that will most definitely leave her with a mutilated face. Sydney finally accepted the request to join Ms. Terwilliger's coven and also accepted the nagic within her. It was funny how in awe she left Adrian everytime she used her magic in front of him. The two are perfect for each other. Adrian weilds Spirit magic and Sydney is a witch! It's a match made in heaven - apart from the whole vampire and human scandal. But they'll work it out.

So Marcus Finch, the rogue alchemist makes his first appearance. At the end, like Sydney, I was very disappointed that Marcus wasn't more of an action figure in taking down his former group and battling the Strigoi on his own. She finds out that he seems to be all talk and Marcus is way more cautious and too afraid to deal with being discovered that he wouldn't be able to do a good job of taking the Alchemists down. He doesn't see it that way, but it is very obvious!

I found the whole breaking into the Alchemists' archive thing pretty awesome. Sydney used her feminine wiles to seduce Ian into letting her into the library then used magic to sneak off and steal information on the Alchemists in the process. That also led to the big revelation, that wasn't really that much of a surprise for me, that The Alchemists - or atleast a few of them anyway - are doing business with the crazy psychopathic group "The Warriors of the Light" Also, the warriors might be going after Jill, who already has to worry about power-hungry Moroi coming after her. That is another reason Sydney stays, to find answers and stop anyone from hurting Jill.

I hate to say it but I had no clue Alicia was evil. It just flew right by my head because her character seemed so silly that I hadn't thought she was putting on a ruse. And the whole time poor Ms. Terwilliger was trying to help mask Sydney from her sister- while draining herself in the process - it turns out that it wasn't her sister and the witch was going after her not Sydney. Alicia got a faceful of darts but sadly, her body hadn't been found in the remains of the house, so she will be back.

I'm still very surprised that Jil and Eddie haven't gotten together yet. It's the third one and it's been obvious that they liked each other from the start. Well, it was more obvious with Eddie but in the second book Jill finally revealed how she felt to Sydney. But now, knowing how Jill feels, Eddie still thinks it would never work because he wouldn't be able to keep her safe if they were together. Which I think is crazy because that would make him that much more protective. I can't believe he would deny his feelings for Jill, especially after Angeline cheated on him!

I REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY loved The Indigo Spell, with all the magic, passion, intrigue, and adventure that I could ask from a book! I do reccomend it and any other Mead book because the Moroi world is very fascinating and it is a very good escape from the humdrumness of reality! Pick it up! You won't be sorry.
