Things I've learned from listening to podcasts 3.
A woman got busted for drunk driving, which is not news in itself, of course. The news is that she got busted after reporting herself to the police.
She and her boyfriend were out at a bar, and when they left he said he was too drunk to drive, so she drove. But very soon into the trip he decided that she, also, was too drunk to drive. This started an argument which ended with her calling the police, telling them what she was driving and what road they were on, and having a patrol car come meet them so she could take a breathalyzer and prove that she wasn’t drunk. Unfortunately, the boyfriend turned out to be right, and she ended up spending the night in jail.
So, let that be a lesson to everyone: on the list of ways to find out exactly how drunk you are, put “calling the police” at the very bottom.
