...in which Mama is pretty cool.

I had to work 'til 8:00 on the birthday, so by the time I got off there wasn't really time for a dinner, and anyway Mama was outta town.  So we had the birthday dinner tonight instead.  We went to Waffle House, the Happiest Place on Earth.  I had the usual, a Patty Melt Plate (scattered, smothered and covered) and a cheese omelet.  It was excellent, and it has now turned to concrete in my stomach, so I won't need to eat again at least 'til Monday.
Mama got me a book for my birthday, a collection of Philip K. Dick's short stories.  She wrapped it, too, in Sesame Street paper, 'cause I dig Sesame Street.  But the paper was in three layers, so that I couldn't see what was inside it despite the fact that several holes had been cut in it.  When I asked her why the holes were there, she said that she knew that, although I love the show, I hate that damn stupid Elmo character.  So she had cut out all the pictures of Elmo, leaving all the other characters intact.
I think that's just about the coolest thing ever.
