The girl didn't reply readily, instead standing there and looking down. At least he didn't sound too 'I just woke up' groggy. So at least she hadn't woken him. But now she really wasn't sure what to say.
"Well..."
Sighing, she shook her head, backing away from the bed now. This was a bad idea.
"It's nothing. I just wanted to see how you were doing, and perhaps borrow a blanket. It's a little chilly in my room."
She didn't move to take a blanket, and she didn't move to leave. She simply stayed rooted to her spot, playing with the hem of her shirt nervously. Silent in thought. If she went back now, she'd only be met with more restlessness. Or nightmares, she remembers, as another sound from a dinosaur in the distance had her whining a little, hands covering her ears.
And with that, she made the short trip back to the bed quick, but still hesitated once she reached the edge of it. She wasn't sure why this was suddenly so awkward, or what was even making it that way, but she fidgeted and hesitated and messed again with the hem of her shirt before tentatively sitting on the bed.
Rose didn't lay down, however. Simply sat there, and kind of stared at the floor.
She began to fiddle with her shirt again, twisting the fabric in her fingers as she tried to figure out if she wanted to elaborate or not. For now, she decided not. If he asked, she would explain, but if he didn't that would be just as well.
"Well, I know it is simply a dream. What it involved, however, is very much rea--" And at that point she squeals a little, startled by a particularly loud dino noise. Simultaneously with the shriek, she lurched toward John, hands finding and latching onto his arm as her face buries into his shoulder.
"R-realistic. And. Pertaining to current circumstances," came a quiet mumbled reply from his shoulder. She's not afraid of dinosaurs, John. She's afraid of what they can do.

"Could I. Possibly borrow something else?"

It was a very quiet request. Above a whisper, but only just.
