One Little Christmas Tree Originally uploaded by
Jason Langlois The Cheesecake Burlesque troop, who I've probably mentioned on here before a few times, had their last show of 2010 last night. I was iffy on whether or not I'd be going - I've been to more than a few of the shows this year, after all. Then, out of the blue, I was contacted by Champagne Sparkles who asked if I'd be interersted in shooting pictures of the show. Not being a complete idiot, I agreed.
For one night, I got to be "on the list". I cut to the front of the line outside, before the doors officially opened, and was let in. I had a reserved chair front row, center, for the show. I got to take about 900 pictures of the acts (in between laughing). And, even cooler for me, I got invited to the after party.
The pics mostly turned out. Managing the light was tough, since it kept changing during the performances, but I think I did fairly well. I was shooting without a flash, so had to rely on high ISO and low apeture, to get the shots. A good number came out blurry, but enough are sharp and look good.
The party after was a lot of fun, and I ended up hanging around until 5AM.
Hopefully I'll get a chance to do it again, and can use some of what I learned this time out to do better... like "adjust for the light sooner".
