Motley Crue put on a pretty damn good show to kick off their winter tour. A ton of pyrotechnics, lots of guitar noodling and drum pounding, and a good dozen or more deafening BOOOMS. They opened with Quick Start My Heart, and finished with Dr. Feelgood. In between, they touched on Looks that Kill, Shout at the Devil, and more.
Of the metal bands in the 80s, Motley Crue wouldn't have been one I'd have expected to still be touring 30 years later, and with all 4 members. If there were any rockers who you'd expect to have imploded (and, in truth, they've come close over the years), it would be this bunch.
Also saw the Joe Perry Experience, which seemed like a really good Aerosmith tribute band. With Steve Tyler laid up with a broken hip, I suspect this is Joe's way of paying some bills.
Hunter was in a huggy mood today, and seemed mostly over his sick.
