(no subject)
My oh my, it's been a while since I ventured into LJ (was my last post really January 2007? Lordy).
In the interest of not having to rack my memory too thoroughly, here are the major bullet points of (possible) interest from the last year or so:
Boring stuff first: I was promoted to team lead at work (still at LSI on the same project). I have three team members, and I still really enjoy the work and the people with whom I work. My new(ish) manager is unfortunately an idiot and a sycophant, but luckily I can get around him easily enough, basically by doing everything myself. I'm starting to entertain thoughts of entering product management, but that's probably a ways out.
Now the fun stuff: I bought a house! It's over on the east side, near 12th and Airport. A bit of a rough area sometimes, but my immediate neighbors are all really nice, and my little brother is living with me so I don't worry about it much. The house itself is a tiny little thing, but it sits on almost 1/4 acre lot which backs up to a creek and cemetery screened by a forested area (quietest neighbors around). The city is doing construction and using part of my lot as a byway, but eventually I'll have a housewarming party (I've only been in it for 6 months, hah). We have lots of big plans for remodeling and landscaping; I _love_ being a homeowner.
Clark moved to Austin! He's living with me until he decides he's ready to leave the nest. He was declared officially cured of Stills Disease, so he's finally able to continue his life without the hassle of always being sick, and Austin seemed like a good place to start. ;)
And most recently, I am dating this _amazing_ guy who makes me ridiculously happy. The best part? I make him just as happy. We're incredibly compatible, not only with each other but with each other's friends and lives. I'm excited to see where this one goes.
