About 21 hours ago, I graduated from the University of Chicago.
Although it had certainly been 4 years coming, this certainly marks the dividing line between two very distinct eras in my life.
In Tolkien: Medieval and Modern, I read of the legend of the Sun and the Moon in The Silmarillion. Upon the mortal wounding of the two trees and the darkening of Valinor, Nienna and Yavanna nurtured the two trees until Telperion bore one last flower of silver, and Laurelin bore one last golden fruit. These were used to make the moon and sun respectively.
In my empty room, this livejournal is the last fruit I have gathered and planted at UChicago as I am compelled to depart.
Good Bye UChicago. I will miss you.
