honestly - i always think audrey just looks cold and tired. poor girl has no body fat at all.

They didn't get along at all. Although I'm obsessed with Bogie and I'm an Audrey fan, this is one of the few Bogie movies I didn't like. (Audrey's wardrobe was smashing, though.)

He was miscast. Billy Wilder really wanted Cary Grant. When Grant refused the role, Bogie knew he was second choice and resented it. Also, Audrey and William Holden were having an affair (this was before her marriage to Mel, but Holden was married) and so Bogie felt excluded from some of their partying, understandably so.

Also, Bogie hated Holden from bad acting experiences with him in the past.

Audrey ended the affair when she found out that Holden couldn't have children, which she wanted very much. It broke his heart and he was in love with her for many years.

i've read a couple bios of audrey and lauren bacall's autobiography... never read anything about them not liking eachother. though definitely about the whole audrey/holden romance.

also bogie was married to bacall at that point. (and totally in love with her of course!)

i know - what sick-minded individual thought that pairing up? seriously. its like lance armstrong and that olsen twin. yuck! (not that i give a damn about those two. lol.)

i love em both. but audrey belongs to mel. they were perfect together. :)
