Late war report

I am not much of a poster, but I figure once in awhile can't hurt...

Camping at Shark Pit was wonderful as usual. I love my friends and had a truly great time running amok and alternately lounging. The hafla was fun and was much cooler than the old stale rapier parties we once held. Yay Jaffe and Tessa! The shower and coolers were great (thanks to Bert, Stephan, and Fergus) and the camp was is usual entertaining and welcoming self. The food was great too (thanks to many) I can't imagine having ever camped elsewhere.

The war itself was exhausting. On Monday I nearly gave myself a heat stroke fighting spear (chills and dizzy). On Tuesday I did better in the 2-hour woods battle, but I had too little left in the tank for rapier champions that afternoon. Wednesdays morning battle (more spear) almost made me puke in my helmet (my brother did). Lesson learned - although I want to fight spear or rapier in every single battle, I really should pace myself. The rest of the war went more smoothly and I managed to save something for the rapier woods on Friday.

Speaking of the woods...I want to thank everyone (friend or foe) who took part in the rapier woods. It was my first command and (aside from not winning) the battle exceeded my fondest wishes. The sides were a little bit lopsided (200-113 against), but we still managed to give our friends from the mid and aethelmarc quite a battle (and hopefully a bit of a challenge). East and allied forces were amazing, fighting with honor and ferocity. In the end, the entire force was awarded the Dragon's Teeth by his majesty Mid.

All war I felt kinda sluggish and partially blame the antibiotics I was on.  The bottle said avoid sunlight and such.  That said, I still need to be in better shape for next war. To that end I am back on the low carb diet (for a few weeks anyway) to burn the weight I gained (yes, gained) at war. So far I have dropped 9 lbs and although a good chunk of that is water, thats not bad for a week. Next step - exercise. :-(

1 week of summer left. Sigh.
