Level 3
i think i had four main things to say but i can only remember 3:
one weirdly the more time goes by and the more i think about what happened with hurricane katrina the more pissed i get. i cant believe those government officials who could have done something and i cant believe how those journalist portrayed people. its just weird that i feel more bothered and affected by it now then i did when it was happening.
two i feel like people who love eternal sunshine of the spotless mind are kinda weak if they've never seen la jetee and/or realize how indebted eternal sunshine seems to be to la jetee. eternal sunshine doesn't seem completely groundbreaking to me, i feel like it was more of an aesthetic achievement or maybe story organization.
three i just saw some shitty trailer on tv for (the international it might be called?). they showed people shooting each other in the ny guggenheim. i wonder if art drop out students working on this blockbuster were influenced by matthew barney or i think it would also be funny if matthew barney tried to sue them. or its just weird how advertising absorbs contemporary art.
i guess i'll just make some bullet points now
-i want to know more about peggy guggenheim
- pregnant mia is the shit and i give her so so much credit
-british culture is stupid and mia doesnt count.
-chris marker's birth name was christian francois bouche-villeneuve (HAHAHA)
-i'm obsessed with piet mondrain right now and got shoes that look like his compositions. i also used to hate him. also the anniversary of his death was about a week ago.
-also, i always get really sad when i hear about authors dying. i am sad about john updike.
-next quarter i'll probably take Italian Cinema, Architecture After 1945, Beginning French, & Thesis
-i hurt my leg and i am getting very tired of it. it is wearing on me not to be able to run and stuff
