Honestly, the only thing I'm still not sold on is the rape.
I'm definitely willing to believe that he was a jerk in middle school, and that he bullied and beat up countless people at Seoil Middle. That, there are too many accounts of with no one speaking up to say "That's a lie!"
From the sounds of it, he definitely had sex with girls at "Hogwarts" but I feel like they were mostly consensual. "Tallying" girls doesn't necessarily mean he raped them, you know?
Sigh. With the way this is going, I suppose we'll never know for sure. In a few days or weeks, he'll drop the charges -- either because he feels bad for her or because he wants to look good -- but more stories will come out about him regardless.
If only there were more people who could back the girls up. It'd be so unfortunate if there really were only two rape victims and no witnesses, but as things stand, I don't think it's really right for anyone to call him a "rapist." A bully, maybe, a jerk and an ass, yes, but a rapist... I'd still hold my judgement.
It's really unfortunate that Korean netizens have such a bad reputation with foreign fans. I'm not really sure why either. Maybe because most foreign fans don't consider the culture and climate of Korea before jumping to conclusions, and don't understand that the minority don't speak for the majority? I suppose it's how Korean netizens would feel if they saw some of the posts on AllKPop and the comments there...
I wonder too about his HP. I suppose it's because the management doesn't want him looking guilty (regardless of the true situation). How strange.
I agree~ i wouldn't really give a care if he was an alcholic, teen wh*re or smoker, i would just say another rebellious wanabe cool teen. but seeing as it's rape he's being accused of >_<
The company might not want him to look guilty but how about the way the comments may affect him wether he is guilty or not? Me and my friend who lives in korea have completly different views on the situation where i think netizens should wait for a while before condeming someone, He immediatly believes that kang ho is at fault because well of the reputation he's been given .
The thing that caught me the most was the song on his homepage haha~ the lyrics are very fitting to his situation but i'm assuming he doesn't understand the lyrics.
Even if he is proven innocent, the chances of the reputation going away are slim as many people are only hearing of co-ed for the first time because of this rumour.
In Korea, those are pretty strong/condemning things for a student (but if you have a Korean friend, I'm guessing you knew that. :3)
Rape is so serious though, not just for the accused but for the victim too. Somehow, I'm not getting the "Just an anti" feeling from this. Even if she is telling the truth, she's practically ruined her life, so why would she? Especially for a "group of nobodies"?
That's true. You know, after I replied, I had to think if it was the company or Kangho that's keeping the homepage open and I'm beginning to think it's Kangho. His "I'm going to report you" was just so... arrogant that I wouldn't be surprised if he's the one that wants to keep it all open. In a kind of... "Bring it on" way. Whether that's "Bring it on, I'm innocent" or "Bring it on, I don't give a damn" way is still up in the air for me.
I really don't think they'll be able to prove he's innocent or guilty, really. The fact that this situation wasn't just a rape accusation, but also dredged up bullying, and rather serious incidents too, probably made it that much worse. But you know what they say, what comes around goes around. He's reaping what he sowed from his acts in school, and I can't really say he doesn't deserve some kind of retribution for it. Someone with his kind of history really shouldn't be gaining attention and fame as an idol, someone people look up to.
What song does he have? I haven't gone and looked myself. ^^;
Haha yeah~ I understand how serious education is there~
The thing that bugs me is if it is an anti going through all this trouble imagine girls who could have gone through rape viewing this, many may get confidence to speak up about a rape they had suffered (not by kangho) bt then it turns out to be fake and it ruins their chances of any justice.
He does give off that cocky vibe especially as he's managed to act like nothings happened. In the performances he doesn't look any different ( excuse the comparison) but when SHINee's jonghyun got found out for something as trivial as dating the sadness was evident on his face. How in the world did this guy become an idol?!
Things like this make me glad i'm more interested in the underground hip hop music of korea not mainstream.
