Dante & Ashe: I think whenever I we talk about them, I always somehow manage to say "Dante still adores her," no matter what's going on. She could be biting off his head, or be busy being smitten by him, or whatever she likes, because no matter what happens, yes-he'll still adore her. Like Oruha (in some ways or another, even though they're different), she's very much the "type" that he's made for himself. Now the "type" of women he likes is, of course, based on his mother, who was strong enough to know how and when to wield a gun, to mother two half-demonic children on her own, as well as stand through the obvious ridicule she received from loving who she did. Despite her strength, she was still feminine, still a good mother, kind, gentle, and cared both for her family and her ideals greatly. She was the basis of his mental foundation of what a woman, and a mother, should be. Ashe fits a lot of his mental criteria, so she parallels with his mother both consciously and subconsciously.

There's always the underlying guilt about how he wasn't able to save his mother (which, in turn, he blames himself, his father, and Vergil for-but essay for a different day), and he feels the need to protect a lot of the women that he comes in contact with, because he'd never be able to handle that, emotionally, if it ever happened again to a woman he was close to. Even Lady and Trish are kept close (and Patty-who's a different story), and while they openly protect him (Patty also has her moments), he protects them in turn. Since Ashe and Dante don't really have that understanding, he gets very confused when they speak, and is unsure of how to approach her. HE DOES ANYWAY, AND USUALLY GETS REPRIMANDED IN SOME WAY, but he still loves interacting with her, even if she's making him awkward, or throwing fire spells at him. He's calmed by her presence, and probably could sit her with hours in nothing but her company and be pretty happy. He admires her strength, and her ability to keep her face in Camp, even though many times it seems like she's about to fall apart.

There was a few months that he had to sort out his feelings about her and detangle them from the strings that connected to his mother. With the help of Larsa and Max GASP he's beginning to understand just how he's supposed to treat her, though many of his own feelings on how he respects women are still mixed in. He's been trying very hard to be good, occasionally succeeding, and occasionally failing. If he wasn't so bad at voicing his feelings, and being aware of the ones he's not, things would probably go a little more smoothly, but there are still things that he has to work out for himself.

Ryoji & Akito: Ryoji loves people. I think I mentioned that to Dancy, too. He loooooves people. (If you ask him, he'll say "especially girls," but it really pertains to all people.) Akito was a little odd to him, I think. He's used to being worried about others and making sure that people don't ~suffer~ because death isn't a bad thing, right? Right. Akito threw him off a little bit because he's a little more difficult to read. But for someone like Ryoji, he's pretty intriguing, which means he might come to bother him again to get to know him better. Ryoji lo~ves "getting to know people."
