Watching Lost in Austen again. I love this series.
We are getting some renos done in the building I work in. They've already done some, and now there's a hiatus, while all of the other libtechs who work in the PRCVI library (what I used to do), they are moving scads of large print books and kits into the new warehouse area. Then the braille has to be moved. That's going to be a colossal move. Seriously scared to see it go down. But the way the LP is going so smoothly, I have hope! Once the braille is moved there will be shelves disassembled and reassembled and space that was braille shelving, will suddenly, mid Octoberish, be transformed into a huge production and office area for braille, e-text, etc. Sound proof walls for the production area to box in the thwacking of the braille printer. Really neat stuff. I love seeing and hearing about the plans. I love coming to work and finding a wall or a door, where there didn't used to be one. I'm really proud of my coworkers for the amazing way they are coping and planning with this. :) It's a huge undertaking. I get to help occassionally, but the burden is not on me, not in any way. It's entirely on them. but they seem to be doing just fine. So then once the whole production area is completed. That's when my ARC coworker and I will get to move to a new spot, with WINDOWS!! I'm looking forward to that. We're also going to be able to get extensions to our desk or extra tables, so that we can have a place to spread our work out. It's rather cramped right at the moment. So that will be nice. By November we should be there.
Just got a call from Neil, It looks like tomorrow, I'll be accompanying Neil and Carl on a visit to our capital city of Victoria. Means getting up early, hopping on a bus and riding a ferry for a couple of hours. They want to go to the museum, and look around town. Should be interesting. I think Carl has been completely bored. lol. So hopefully this will kill the boredom a bit.
Marz!!! Kinda late notice, But i'll be in town if you want to grab a coffee! LOL. Feel free to say F off, you can't get later notice than this, and you have other plans involving a multitude of toddlers, I know. :)
