[Filtered From Merlin, Arthur, & Uther]

I am partaking in a spar against Captain Jack Sparrow. Is there anyone willing to lend me a sword? I would steal Arthur's like I did as a child but he seems to have taken to having it on him at all times.

[Jack has...heard his name. Surprisingly. He picks up his journal and peers into it]

Lass? You've not got a sword?

I have not. I know there is a weapon shop but I much prefer a used sword. There is just something about them that feels right.

Aye; stained indelibly with the blood of past conquests? A sword never forgets.

You could borrow mine?

AW I'M SO SORRY! :( ofthefey June 28 2010, 02:25:38 UTC
I'd like to think it's about the feeling of the sword being passed down from warrior to warrior. It makes it feel stronger. But if you'd like to go with the blood detail, by all means.

Do you have more than one?

I do not wish to take your only sword.

[And now for the Arrogant Punchline of Extreme Cockiness]

'Salright--Way I figure it, I won't actually need the sword to best you.

Clever.

I will not spar with an unarmed opponent. Winning against someone with no weapon gives no satisfaction at all.

Which is why I must make sure you have a weapon, lass. I do so love to be satisfied.

Listen, it's not as though you were going into battle. Why not just use one from the smithy? Thunderaxe'll set you up.

I'm sure you do.

I suppose I will then. Where is the blacksmith located? This place is so large and I have yet to explore much.

Can't miss it if you're standing right in the middle of the village.

[But curious now, because what the heck else IS there to do in this place but explore?]

You've been too busy to explore then?

((OOC: Ugh I gotta go to bed now O_O))

I'll be sure to obtain one soon then.

Not exactly busy. It's just that King Uther, my guardian from my world, has arrived here. He would not be pleased about me going off on my own to all sorts of places and speaking with strangers. I've grown tired of it though and will do as I please. Just, secretly.

((OOC: It's cool, me too. Work tomorrow.))

I see.......

I know a girl what slips out her window at night in order to evade her guardian-type and sneak about with pirates.

[Offered in a most helpful tone.]

My window back home was very high up so I would not try such a thing there. Here, however, it does not seem high at all in comparison. What a good idea. You must thank this girl for me.

I...would do that, but I'm afraid she may not be on speaking terms anymore.

Sensitive sort.

Now, about our duel. Erm, spar. What are the ground rules? The lady should set the boundaries of course.

Hm, I wonder why that would be. I believe it's safe to assume you must've done something wrong.

No piercing skin. I do not intend to do it, so I expect you not to as well. Fighting with fists or legs is also not allowed. We may use swords only. I am not entirely sure on rules to be perfectly honest. When I used to spar with Arthur we had no rules aside from these.
