TUTORIAL #03

Jul 14, 2006 15:05

This tutorial follows the process I used to make all the icons in this batch of icons I did. I made this using PHOTOSHOP ELEMENTS 4.0, however since Photoshop programs are nearly all alike I'm sure it's easily translatable.

Wow. I just tried this out in PSP, and while PSP doesn't have the 'increase/decrease' specific color adjustment, it turned out pretty dang good, considering. I used the same picture you did, as I always do since it's then easier to figure out where I went wrong if that happens, and...I'm really pleased with how it turned out. Not as vibrant as yours, but I like the way it turned out nonetheless. I did some things different from how you did (I never merge all my layers and continue to play, it's always a recipe for disaster, and I ended up copying the 'soft light' layer a couple extra times to keep track of what steps you did), but it still turned out better than I thought. Not because of your tutorial being bad or confusing (which it wasn't, in spite of using an entirely different program), but because of all the other steps I ended up doing in addition to yours, as well as the different program.

So...yeah. *g* Thank you loads for posting this, and YES for a great tutorial on coloring with no curves! *dances* If I use this for any icons I post (I'll be trying it out on a few screencaps of the non-SW persuasion, and hopefully the results will be as favorable), I'll definitely credit this tutorial. Regardless whether it's used or not, this really is a great tutorial, and I thank you again for posting it.

Sorry for taking forever to reply to this, but I do agree, I love what you specifically did with the colouring, it doesn't need to look like mine, and personally I like the more subtle/blue tones approach you went for. I glad that you found out how to make this tutorial translatable to PSP.

This is such a lovely comment, and I appreciate it greatly that you posted it! THANKYOU! ♥ ♥ ♥

Oh, that's all right, although I must apologize for the repeated assurance that I didn't copy the tutorial word-for-word. I have no idea why I did that, and I'm a little embarrassed by it now. *g*

But you're welcome for the comment anyway! So many tutorials seem to be for the PS and levels and selective coloring, it really was nice and surprising to find this one. :)
