Kind of a silly way actually.

I dreamt of the Gate and wandered through it. On the other side was this place, and I haven't woken up since.

Perhaps you have some insight as to how the living and deceased are able to coexist here? Knowing you, you've probably done your fair share of research already..

.... sort of.

Alchemy works here, but there's an even higher power that seems to control the environment and people of the city. Just the other day, a lot of people had shrunk to a ridiculous size. It was the greatest day ever, since I wasn't affected.

Believing that everything is a dream is just trying to separate yourself from what is real. Then again, with this place so far there seems to be a very thin line between the two.

That sounds ludicrous. Even the Gate wouldn't resort itself to petty mind games like that... Are you sure that you were not affected?...
