So...I FINALLY spent the Christian Publications gift card Ruby got me for Christmas. I got a Plumb CD!
Plumb is awesome...I've read that she was one of Amy Lee's influences...which is odd. I had always thought it was the other way around, but I tend to pay a little more attention to the music than the people. ^^;
Although, I did notice Plumb's real last name is Lee. Must look further into this.
I'd always thought Plumb sounded like Barlow Girl, too (and that they both sounded like Amy) but I think it's just that each of them has one or two songs that sound like...each other. Yeah. The dumb thing about it is the local Christian radio station only plays the songs that sound like Amy. I like those songs, yes, but it doesn't really do the bands justice when their songs with a more unique sound deserve to be heard, too. -_-;;
Plumb actually has a style that's more her own - kind of pop-ish, even though it was in the rock section...she sounds just a tad country, too, but I think that's just how she pronounces things. It's not hokey like the uber-bad, twangy hick-country that I loathe - it's just...a little country-ish, y'know?
I like her pics on this CD, too (the CD's called "Beautiful Lumps of Coal" - yeah, odd name, innit?).
(That second one wasn't really on this CD - at least, my version, if that's not the only one, but I still like it ^_^)
It's a shame her music's a bit older...she'd be great YC material. Oh well; I can always hope...:3
