Bear in mind that we are talking about the same company that recently released "Rockstars Table Tennis" which only stirred controversy due to the fact it was NOT offensive in any way, and also proved that they could make a solid, fun game NOT using "sin" as a primary selling point.

Wether or not you dig the GTA series, they are amazingly well-made games with incredible stories- well acted, well written... you get the picture. While I understand the perspective that preventing the release of such objectional material should, in theory, encourage developers to be brave in thier game design, I ultimately feel that it will simply revert the game industry to what the media wants it to be: toys for children.

Do kids get their hands on video games? Of course. But they also get their hands on porn and watch violent movies while their parents are not working. It's not up to the government to regulate what kids are exposed to- it's up to the parents.

I feel the solution to the issue is simply fining retailers for selling M rated games to minors. That will help to cut off the supply. Also, if the parents of these kids would interact with each other and let it be known what they do and do not want their children exposed to, then there's another way to limit their exposure.

Parents have gotten lazy and expect the government to take care of the jobs that are, honestly, parental jobs. Don't want your kids killing people in video games? Don't buy them violent video games. You didn't know that game was violent? DO SOME RESEARCH. Read the back of the box. Go to gamedad.com. Ask the retailer if the game is okay for your kids to play.

Fuck!
