I don't really know how much I believe in luck, but I'm pretty sure in an instance like this...karma would come back to haunt you.

You believe in karma? Why?

It just makes sense to me. I mean...if you're nice and kind to others those people are going to be more likely and willing to treat you the same. Every choice we make has consequences.

If I was to press that button and it hurt...or even killed someone. There's a chance that another person out there might press the button and the same thing could happen to me. If I was to always make decisions that could hurt others...the likelihood that I too will be hurt at some point just seems a lot more probable.

Sad things happen sometimes naturally. But I think people often get what they give. Since...our choices always affect others.

Do unto others as you wish for them to do unto you--that sort of thing, then. I see.

I'm not sure that every man gets what's coming to him though. Karma perhaps work less in the way of a justice than we would like it to.

That seems a lot more pronounced here. It can be so frustrating. Especially with all the murders.

They say it runs on bad fortune. Even if it was a lie, it's become a popular enough notion to the point of making it quite real.

Do you believe it?

The best we can do is fight the curses as much as possible. That's why I think pushing the button is a bad idea. It's just allowing a curse to continue.

I don't see how one fights a curse such as the ones found here. They are by definition out of our control.

It isn't the same as something manipulated by any other individual who is limited by nature or skill or can be outdone by sheer willpower.

If everyone was to ignore their boxes, I think it would help.

I'm not sure if most curses can be fought either. If there's a better way to deal with them though, I'd like to try.

If. The operative predecessor to most things that aren't likely to happen, but I imagine you're right. If.
