Let's start complaining about college before I'm in, yes? >_>

My college's freshman classes start on the 19th. Why is this a problem?

  • Timetables are available on the intranet for those who have student credentials. First-years have no credentials yet. First-years do not know their timetables in advance. First-years have no way of knowing exactly what courses are run at their level without going to administrative services or emailing their departments and praying for a reply.
  • The national announcement of which students are placed in which school comes out on the 19th. Knowing the speediness of these services, I expect they will be up late afternoon at best.
I have a feeling there will be at most 10 students out of 30 in our first day classes. And those classes? I don't know what they are, where they are, when they are. Waiting on an email.

This arrangement of dates will be just great for the students who need to relocate and find lodgings in another city. (Especially great for the islanders who need to come to the mainland, or the reverse.) It will also be awesome for freshman confusion.

Poor kids. At least I know where I'm placed and what to expect, if not exactly where or when yet...

doing it wrong, school
