Introduction for brigits_flame
So, I've joined
brigits_flame and I'm supposed to write an introduction about myself... I was thinking that my previous journal entry with the meme from
finchory would have been great, but I've just heard about this community, so... I was a bit early? Here goes nothing...
Greetings everyone (my friends who, you never know, might be reading this, and all those from
brigits_flame)!
Where do I start? Since names are what we use every day to get each others attention, I guess I'll start with my name. I have a lot of names from my real life and my virtual internet "life". I am The Ordinary Girl for most forums, the-ordinary-girl for other places, and now, ofshootingstars for here, Livejournal. In real life, I have quite a few nicknames as well, like, Cherise, Cherry, and even the Archbishop of Canterbury (if you really want to know, then ask, but I warn you, it's a long story). Yes, I'm still in school, high school to be more exact. I'm Canadian, and last time I checked, I don't live in an igloo. Ahaha... Plus, it's been twenty-something degrees Celsius these days, and there is no big chunk of ice lying around. That is, I can't see any ice.
I don't have much to say, because really, my life is pretty boring. I love to write, which when I say it, always reminds me as to how I came to love doing the deed. It, in itself, is a funny story to tell and has to do with a certain book that is turning into a movie. I'll let you guess that one. Art is high up there on my list of favourite things, right next to writing. I have now fallen in love with Microsoft Word, my Photoshop CS2 and my lovely set of used drawing pencils and kneaded eraser. I could probably live without them, but definitely life would be quite a bit duller without my lovely tools of trade. To be fair, music has influenced me a lot as well. My mother is a piano teacher, so there is often the sound of music (both good...and sometimes bad) playing in the background as I do homework or something enjoyable. I, myself, play the violin, piano, drums (I'm a beginner though) and the flute (which I have also just started). Some may say that I'm a musical genius and that I must be going into music for university, but really, I'm only serious about violin and piano. Actually, I'm not even serious enough about those two instruments to go into university for music.
Wow, I'm such a rambler... Okay, erm, I think I should talk about what I write. I (used to) write fan fiction (Twilight by Stephenie Meyer, I know, I know...) and I write original stories that are mostly of the romance and humour genre. I am said to be a useful editor, and focus, not only on grammar, but also fluency. I'm really pumped about this!
