It's 5:30 in the morning and I still haven't slept.
Hmm.
I want my car to be fixed, right...now. I have an appointment tomorrow.
I have recently learned that I'm going to the BTBAM show on July 26th. I will be giving a certain young man a ride to and from the show, in exchange for him purchasing my ticket and paying for my gas. A rather sweet deal, if I may say so myself.
What to say...
Aikido is going better than ever. When I first began training, the Shidoin (senior teacher) at the dojo was a little bit terrifying. The man is calm, powerful, and quiet. The overall atmosphere of classes was a little un-nerving. However, having gotten past that stage and listened to what Sensei has to say about Aikido and the ideas behind it, I really like the guy. His aikido is such a part of him that when he displays the moves, it truly is as if there is some other force at work, moving his opponent like a magnet. I've started weapons classes as well, so far I have only used the bokken (sword). The weapons classes are not so much to instruct in the use of the weapon, but to provide a deeper insight on various aspects of Aikido from a different perspective.
That's all on that... if you want to know more, just ask me sometime.
In other news, I'm enjoying my new cd a lot.
It's really chill brazilian/portuguese/african music ... not like separate songs are separate cultures, but apparently in Brazil there's this amazing blend of cultures that gets this music really happening. The language is some form of Portuguese but it contains a bunch of African words... it's vaguely like spanish, but pronunciations for common words are way different. Que instead of "Kay" is "Kee" and e's sometimes sounds like an aye... it's weird. Very cool though.
I'm excited for the future. Life is good.
That is all.
