Torchwood and knitting. An unlikely combination... (Or, is it? Dun-dun-DUN!)

So, what did I do over Labor Day weekend? Knit and watch a LOT of Torchwood. (All of series 1, and the first episode of series 2, to be exact.)

Torchwood, series 1: The series where they all fuck up. Spectacularly. EACH AND EVERY ONE OF THEM.

Torchwood thoughts )

photos, torchwood, law school, knitting!

Er, Albany, NY? My town? Or is there an Albany, TX? (I know there's one somewhere in the South & one in California.)

I miss Tosh! Season 2 was way better than season 1, but I don't think it lived up to the promise of s2ep1 either..

Albany, NY! He just moved up there for his grad program. (HAHA, and according to google, we do have an Albany, TX. Predictably, it's in the middle of nowhere.) Oh, wow, what a small world. You know, I saw you mention Albany several times, but I guess it never clicked. I can't believe I was so oblivious. That's too funny.

(Also, I love your icon. HEE!) Yeah, I think it was definitely hard to live up to how amazing the first episode of season 2. But, for me, some of the character resonances were off in season 2. I never really could get behind Owen/Tosh. It felt like they just didn't know what to do with those characters, especially with Tosh, and so they threw them together, and then they killed them off. But I absolutely loved the teamy goodness in Kiss Kiss Bang Bang. I wish we could have seen more of that.

I hated Owen/Tosh, because I loved Tosh & never liked Owen, plus the whole alien pheromone thing..

The icon is by Redscharlach. She has another version with the caption 'two rights can't be wrong.' :)

Is you friend at SUNY? I'm in the anthro grad program.

Yeah, he's at SUNY, doing nanotech stuff. (He's my fiance. I still love saying that...) I'll be visiting as often as I can get up there, which will basically be once a semester, before the finals studying kicks in. I'm toying with the idea of moving up there after I graduate for a few years, depending on how long his program lasts (he thinks 4 years) and whether I can find a job. I don't want to be married and living almost 2000 miles apart, but I also don't want to sit the bar in New York without any other ties to the state. It's something that still needs to be worked out, but I definitely can't stress about it yet.

I love those cartoon mini icons! I've seen them everywhere! Thanks for the link. (BWAHAHAHAHA, there's a lesser of two weevils icon!)

Tosh had so much potential, and they just did nothing about it. There were glimmers, and there were definitely times when she got to be awesome, but sadly not enough of them.

Cool, nanotech! Is he making dei ex machina? :) Congrats on the fiance stuff.. I'm sure you'll figure out the location thing with time. If it helps, we're not that far away from the borders of a few other states.
