My Rhinebeck Spoils

Oct 17, 2010 13:31

Just a warning, this post is going to be FILLED with photos.

All of the yarn I bought, I plan to use for socks. Some of it is sock yarn, and some of it is sport/DK yarn.

But first, a photo of Casey and "Bob" from the Ravelry meet-up:

And now for YARN (and some other goodies):

Pink sportweight superwash wool, ~770 yards, from Fessler Spinning & Weaving. The color is slightly more accurate in the second picture.

Green/purple sportweight 20% wool / 80% alpaca blend Marshmallow, by Decadent Fibers, ~315 yards. (It's marked as Pulled Taffy, a mohair/wool blend, but it's really not. It was mislabeled.) The colorway, judging from their website, is called Sue's Color.

Red/black fingering weight yarn, Foot Notes, from Fiber Optic Yarns. 80% superwash wool, 20% nylon. Colorway: Passion. The color is more accurate in the first picture.

Blue Moon Fiber Arts, BFL Sport, in colorway Jasper. OH MAN. I knew that BFLs were pretty popular sheep, but I'd never gotten to feel yarn spun from them, and OH MAN. As soon as I felt the yarn, I knew I had to buy some. (There was also some blended with bamboo, and they were really smooshy and wonderful, but I held back. The colorways weren't what I wanted, and so I figured I could find some at a later time.)

Blue Moon Fiber Arts, Socks That Rock. I found two skeins of mill ends (lightweight, but I was hoping to get one lightweight and one mediumweight so I could feel the difference, but oh well), so the price was discounted (YAY FOR CHEAPER YARN). However, the wrappers for the mill ends skeins didn't have the colorways marked.

I think this one was Truly, Madly, Deeply:

I didn't know the name of this one, but I looked it up on their website, and it's Gertrude Skein (HEE!):

And now for the non-yarn spoils from Water's Edge Jewelry.

STITCH MARKERS! They were my first purchase of the day yesterday morning, and I can't wait to use them! I'm always jealous of everyone who has really super-cute stitch markers. And now I have some! I bought six total: 2 each of the kitties, 1 of the yarn ball, and 1 of the sweater.

A knitting charm bracelet! If I had been alone, I probably wouldn't have bought it. My non-crafty friend who went with me (she was a SAINT, and I think she had a great time, too -- I know she at least enjoyed herself) talked me into it. I'm so glad I let her, because I wore it last night, and it made me so happy. :-)

In conclusion, I don't think I'm going to buy any more yarn for the rest of 2010. And then some. (Not that I'll need it!)
