bff4liiiiiiife. Mirka is really Seth's stable point now; she's the only Methuselah who has been brought up to accept most of who and what Seth is and has seen her at some of her highest and lowest points! Seth has seemed fairly low-key in camp overall, but emotionally she's been jarred a lot. She's had her separate confrontations with various Methuselah over her nature; her strained relationship with Abel; Orden people in general; Ion's memory loss between the two times he came to camp; the whiplash when she's forced to look at/even relive her childhood due to various camp effects. Mirka is the person Seth doesn't have to have these issues with--they understand each other really damn well, and Seth needs that. She needs someone to confide in and take her as she is, or she'll go crazy.
OUKA AND KURURU:
This isn't exactly a relationship thing so much as a SotU--Kururu is becoming a little more independent, in a way, in camp! This is a reflection of her trust in and approval of Ouka's own increased independence. Princess did survive unscathed with no attendants for months, after all! She spent the first month or so absolutely refusing to leave Ouka's side, then it dropped to normal levels, then she felt okay leaving Ouka just a little bit more and letting her do her own thing. She's still glued to Ouka about 90% of the time but this is a BIG CHANGE! since the usual is ~95%. That 5% is also time she spends learning to build relationships of her own, which is cool.
It may jump up back over 95% though because PARANOIA re: bad shit going down, yay. Because the environment Kururu felt more comfortable letting Ouka and herself have more freedom in is camp at its usual: mostly benign, with quirky and inappropriate but ultimately harmless effects. Actual harm being done to their special people changes that, and both folks Road attacked were in Kururu's very narrow circle of friends/important folk, and...yeah, it's hard to blame her for fearing that Ouka might be targeted next, especially as she doesn't have the full story from either Jesse or Hakuren.
Re: Shuri! She's learned that Shuri isn't 100% bad enemy guy thing (she's getting a little better at splitting hairs and compromising in camp; seeing people as variable humans rather than simplistically PROPER VS. IMPROPER). But ultimately his bad traits still outweigh his good traits in her eyes, and he's still not allowed to marry Ouka. Gosh.
