[mood |
shocked]
I've finished it, I lied and slept a bit beforehand though. Really the only thing that 'shocked' me was the first thing I mentioned, everything else was completely un-shock-worthy. And it's not that it was even 'surprising' just, completely uncalled for! :p
- First off, Remus and Tonks. No. When I read that part in the book, I practically started convulsing. I had to get up and stop reading for a few minutes. I thought I was going to throw up. Seriously. I didn't really care about anything after that, I had to force myself to get through those last couple of chapters.
- Snape! <3. I think it's quite obvious that he's not in fact evil at all, but only doing what he had to for the greater good. Therefore convincing Voldemort and his followers of his 'allegiance', making him *that* much more important in the next book, when Harry's got to conquer save the world. Of course Harry's got to get over the fact that he hates him and is actually on his side. And Snape's gotta get over the fact that Harry is a dumb bitch whom he hates, with reason. But yes, Snape's development was overall the best part of the book. As well as his interactions with Draco. :D And of course he was the Half Blood Prince, because I liked the HBP all along, and I loved his potions textbook. *meep*
But it kills me that Harry was right about Draco all along, when no one else would believe him. I hate when Harry is right, and that he kept going on and on about it. Jesus kid, get a life. Seriously, Harry/Draco fandom must be a gigantic puddle right about now.
Beside that the rest of the book kind of seemed like a waste of time (well, atleast I didn't spend too much time on it). Maybe if I had read more fanfic? Haha. I said I realized that I didn't actually physically enjoy reading the books anymore, and just wanted to read it to be done with it so I can see what everyone is talking about. I don't know if it's me getting older, but there just seemed to be so much more, atmosphere in first few books. I feel I really only find myself relishing during the Snape or Draco parts, the parts when they're doing homework or in the classroom (ok, so I really like when they're doing schoolwork! really), or any mention of the Marauder period. Everything else is just filler, which basically leaves, uh most of the plot. I want Sirius to come back! WAHH! And Lupin wasn't in it nearly enough. And his holding hands with Tonks, all other squeeworthy Remusness went right out the door. *sniffle* There is still hope yet?
Hermione and Ron can snog away, I don't mind that too much I guess. I expect she won't mention that until the 7th book, probably the very end of it. I was actually expecting more obvious relationships and romance well, there WAS a lot of it. (not having read any spoilers, that's what I had gathered from everyone's hinted shock and disgust) But I was kind of expecting something a bit more racey. Like when they kept finding Draco going off to the Room of Requirement with girls. I half expected Harry to open the door, only to find that Draco wasn't doing anything particularly evil, just whoring himself out a bit. O.O [I mean, there was WHOOPING] (I SERIOUSLY THOUGHT THIS)
Alice, I thought of you a lot, especially the Ron/Lavendar, and when Ron and Ginny were fighting over snogging, I knew you'd be dying. And I thought of Alexis whenever Harry had blood pouring out of his nose, and Draco was STEPPING ON HIS FACE. <3
