Sickness & Friends & Writing

Stupid cold. When some people get colds their throat will always be sore, or their nose will always run - I get both and a dreaded third symptom: watery eyes. I'm just crying constantly. It's so embarassing getting some cold medicine and I see old ladies giving me worried looks. Because watery eyes just look like you're crying. It might not be so bad if it was allergy season, because then I would be surrounded by allergy eyed people and I could sort of blend in but it's the middle of winter. There are no allergies, just me and my stupid cold. I'm not responsible for my actions if another person asks me if I'm "okay".

Maybe it's because of my cold-filtered gaze, but I've also been having a lot of those "I have the best friends ever" kind of moments lately. Curls keeps making me tea. And making me stuff. I'm curled up in a ball and she's busy with her midterm tomorrow, but she still takes time out to do all these super nice things for me. Best. Roommate. Ever. JB and KM are also going above and beyond. KM actually is also extremely sick, so we were commiserating last night over our fifteenth cup of tea. She's definitely worst than me. Side note: I recently converted JB into a Nathan Fillion fan = awesomeness that is only matched by my succesful conversion of Curls into a Supernatural fan.

My writing has been stop and go. When my eyes water too much I can't really see what I'm typing ... which is an issue. I've mostly been working on my comment meme that I still need to finish. Plus, I really want to write out a full account of my trip. I'm excited about the cheerleader-writer match-ups this week over at paperlegends. I've requested a cheerleader, and I've also signed up to be one. To be prepared I've started lurking around everyone else who also signed up to be a cheerleader, trying to get my five choices picked for when it goes live. But honestly: I think I would be happy with most of the people who signed up. I'm not too picky.
