Talk back.

I would like to say that such controversies are being raised at this point in time such that whatever credibility these presidentiable have will be tainted. I actually see the logic in doing so, but what's funny is that they are lambasting each other by throwing rebuttals at their own expense.

The more a presidentiable speaks ill against another, a layer unfolds and it shows how desperate he or she really is. Now, if we see what this particular candidate has done wrong, so what? Aren't we already immune to the fact that we are being treated as hypocrites - that we will cast our votes on who is the cleanest? I say that the 'cleanest' of them all is apparently the best person to correct his or her own mistakes.

We speak as if we are worthy of a clean president. Of course, we are worthy of a responsible one, of one who is not bent on money (although in politics, we know that it makes their world go 'round), of one who does not act as a puppet and takes after the names of his parents and rap his way into some people's hearts, who does not only fly a plane but can bring our country to much greater heights, or who does not protest against the RH bill but uphold the rights of women to have their own future.

What good is the ZTE deal now, may I ask? What bearing does it have on our decision? One of the things I hate about politicians is that when crunch time comes, they pick on past events and use it against each other as if it's their only way out.

Delos Reyes said that the youth have instinctive knowledge of sex. Bite me. Should we be happy that this "instinctive knowledge" is the main cause of unwanted pregnancies, sexually transmitted diseases and HIV? We are on the losing end, since our primal instinct tells us to pro-create. Mind you, lust is a powerful force.

And what do I think about Villar's hackneyed jingle? Epic. He can't be questioned about it, although I'd change the channel or squirm every time I hear that all too familiar tune. He has the money, and he's playing the game. He even has it in different languages! Whatever defense he has about accusations against him should be supported by transparency.

Is it the right time, if not too late, to press charges against the soon-to-be former President for the 2004 election fraud (more than half a decade late, i think?) and 'gross misgovernance'?

I've heard one too many times that corrupt officials should be removed from their positions. Now tell me, who's going to run the country? The Church?

I'd say the debates at this point should be monitored based on how close the words are to action. Nothing is concrete, everything is superficial unless proven otherwise. Only one walks the talk. But the sad fact is, shouldn't we all?
