• For the first few years of her life Marian was a good, sweet child, until Malcolm started to teach her the art of being a troll. It all went downhill from there. They would pull pranks on the family all the time and do stupid childish things when they weren't busy hiding from the Templars or in the middle of lessons.
• Her magic first manifested while she was in the bath, after a rather nasty fight with Carver, she ended up freezing the water solid. Malcolm and Leandra rushed to her aid, getting her out of there quickly, but Marian spent at least six hours shivering; partly to do with the cold also because she was both scared and ridiculously excited about what just happened.
• Malcolm got her a little pendant of a hawk for her tenth birthday, it is the most precious thing in the world to her. She carries it at all times around her wrist and/or staff. Trying to rid her of it is a fast way of earning yourself a set of fireballs to the face.
• The mabari was called Dog because no one could agree on a name for it, so Hawke just called him Dog. The others tried a number of other names but eventually gave up because he wouldn't answer to anything else but Dog.
• Dog choosing her was a complete accident, the result of a rather comical staring contest actually. By the way? Dog won.
