The Hostal Kory is directly in the middle of Coroico, and the attached restaurant is, for all intents and purposes, absolutely charming. Dominic, dressed sharply as per usual, is a little less at ease than he appears, but how he appears is more important than how he actually is.

How he is, is fine; legs crossed, posture easy, menu at an angle ( Read more... )

Camille is not, for the record, late - not by Latin American and Southern European standards, anyway. For those standards, she's early. Call it a compromise between conflicting attitudes towards time.

(also, Rocio had dropped her off on the way to her own date, as Camille couldn't get her own car)

True to her word, her dress is nice; black lace, attractive and discreet all in one with thick straps and a hem that is below her knee, a neckline that has a touch of daring only if you look at it. Black heels, with a solid, low heel and thick straps, and while
she isn't wearing any rings, bracelets or necklaces, she's changed her earrings - top pair plain gold-and-topaz, middle pair tiny spiders with topaz for the back, bottom set a pair of thick, twisted gold hoops.

She's also left her hair in its natural, heavy brown curls.

The waiter leads her over, and she gives Greene a warm smile.

"I hope I didn't keep you waiting."

"Oh, no, no, no, of course not." He looks up as he answers (a quick, discreet once-over) and closes his menu for the time being.

"No trouble getting here?"

A quick shake of her head as she sits down (and the waiter pushes her in - despite everything, she does have that effect on men).

"I caught a lift."

"Need one back?"

"I don't fancy walking," and her tone is dry. It is also not advisable, even around here.

"Easily taken care of."

Camille smiles the quick, pleased smile of a person who not only won't have to walk up hill back to her room, but won't have to walk up the hill at night in a thin dress when she left her gun in her dresser.

And his is the smile of a person whose agenda is going down like clockwork.

"You wouldn't happen to have any specific dietary restrictions?"

(On the one hand, it's a perfectly innocent question.

On the other, there are certain accidents that can occur if a person has any severe allergic reactions to a particular food.)

"Not in the slightest."

"Then --"

He gestures at her menu.

"-- take your pick."

She picks hers up and leafs through it. She's a fast reader, and does tend to look for certain things; not to mention she had asked Rocio on the way down, because it would have been foolish not to take advantage of an information source.

"Picante de Pollo, I think for me," and she glances over the top of the menu at him.

He nods, more quickly than not, placing his menu flat on the table and glancing for a waiter.

"Cabernet Franc sound good, then?"

(It's supposed to go well with chicken.

He's ordering the pork chops - and although pork is considered a white meat, there are times it goes better with red wine.)

"It does."

Another smile (another nod) and he manages to get a waiter's attention.

Order placed, he places both hands on the table, fingers latticed.

"I suppose asking how you are would be a bit of a superfluous question."

"Unlike most pleasantries?" She asks, arching her eyebrows slightly.

This earns a quick laugh.

"Fair enough."
