what if beauty was not looked at as an ideal to be achieved, or a scale to be measured against,
but instead an inherent characteristic of which there was variation, but an objective one. beauty could be something akin to hair color or eye color. some people have brown hair, and others have blonde hair, but everyone has hair in some way. it seems to me that very few people would claim that blonde hair is truly better or worse than brown hair.

obviously, our language lacks the neccesary vocabulary to describe these objective terms for the beauty that everything possesses, but i dont think it would be too difficult to create them. of course, i'm being idealistic. in time, some forms of beauty would eventually be given precedence over the other forms, and we would simply have new words for pretty and ugly.

i just wish it didnt have to be that way i guess.

im hungry. i should think a muffin will do.
