because... boys all over the country were in love with one woman. They were blindlessly and hopelessly devoted to her. She was the reason that no girl could find a man.
Her name was Evany, a simple enough name, but a name that spoke evil in every girl's heart. Of course she was beautiful. She couldn't not be. She was slim and tall and her face was delicately featured. Her lips were deep and red, her skin flawless and pale, and her hair was long, flowing and black. The perfect ice pricess, or a wicked witch - depending which party you belonged to.
Although Evany's beauty was unequaled her personality left a lot to be desired. She was harsh and bitter and cruel (to girls). However around boys Evany was the image of perfection. Evany could have conquered the world, but she made one simple mistake.

Back in the English classroom, Miss Eliza Johnson sat at her desk picking at her cuticles, while formulating a plan. This morning Eliza's boyfriend had neglected to call her, and he had neglected to send her flowers. This made Eliza mad. How dare he treat her this way? When she got home she was going to
a)Call him up and tell him where to go. b) Accept Steve's offer to go out of Friday (hopefully this would make Mike insanely jealous) and c) Hunt down that Evany chick. Eliza had seen the way Mike looked at her. She knew Evany had to be the culprit. "Miss, ahem, miss," Mr. Googenheim's nasal voice broke through her thoughts. Mr. Googenheim tried again this time fixating his eyes on Eliza's face, "Are you at all concentrating Miss. Eliza?" Eliza was mad and when Eliza got mad you didn't want to test her. "No, actually Mr. Googenheim, I was just thinking about why my boyfriend hasn't sent me flowers, or chocolate or even a card. English is in fact the last thing on my mind."
"Well, then..." But the rest of Mr. Googenheim's speech could not be heard for the sound that suddennly errupted from the unusally quiet English classroom.
"What is up with him?"
"Did it happen to you to Eliza?"
"I can't believe it." And if you must know the name Evany was mentioned several times throughout the endless chatter.
