Security systems were something where what you paid for was what you got. A few cameras at angles that were discreet but not too well hidden, preprogrammed alarms and triggers that would alert whoever was watching a screen miles away.
If someone had been watching live early morning the day before they might have noticed a cell phone resting in its charger. And if that someone hadn't noticed it turn into tall blond man who uttered an impressive string of curses before hitting the floor, then they really needed to consider a new line of work.
Fortunately for that hypothetical someone, they weren't, hadn't and didn't. Less fortunate for Mohinder who pushed open the door and set down his laptop, oblivious until - "
Well, finally."
"What?" Mohinder spun as a someone appeared from the shadows to his right.
A hand descended on his shoulder and a crisp accent said, "I've been waiting for hours," punctuating the phrase with a push that stuck a pink post-it to Mohinder's shirt.
Mohinder pried it off, looking at the 'special network rates' and, trying to look intimidating, took a step back. "And you are?" The man in black looked smug but not dangerous, but Mohinder'd made mistakes before, so he took another and- who's idea was it to put the desk at his back there?
"Forgotten me already?" the phone smirked, the words falling in an almost familiar cadence. He leaned in, his mouth to Mohinder's ear, saying, "It's going to be fun reminding you."
"Thank you," Mohinder took a step to the side. "But that's not exactly what I meant."
