Berryz Koubou New @ musicJAPANplus!!!
The group made their debut on March 3rd 2004 with the single 'あなたなしでは生きてゆけない / Anata Nashi dewa Ikite Yukenai'. The group name meant that they are a 'koubou (工房；workshop) that creates all kinds of different music like a bunch of berries. The plural form 'Berries' was changed to 'Berryz' from an aesthetic standpoint.
In the spring of 2007 they became the youngest ever artist to perform a concert at Saitama Super Arena.
In October 2008 received the Best Asian Newcomer Award at the Asia Song Festival 2008.
In December 2008 won the Cable Radio Music Award at the 41st Japan Cable Music Awards for their single 'ジンギスカン / Dschinghis (Genghis) Khan'.
