So yeah, still treating injuries from camping. If you want to hear the stories for both incidents... here goes.
The first one happened the first night. I was walking through an adjacent site on my way to the bathroom when I tripped on the fire ring for that site. It would have been too bad if it was just that. The injury came from the supports which are the same as those used for street signs and my leg probably hit both on the way down. It bit into me twice taking out a smaller, deeper chunk, then a much larger and shallower chunk. I didn't think much of it at the time besides the fact that it hurt so I continued up to the bathroom. All in all I ended up shaving half my lower leg so I could bandage it up and go swimming.
The second happened on the third night we were there. We hadn't used the grate for a while and the fire was getting low so I flipped it over and went to grab for a couple logs. I put the logs on and turned back around to cover up the wood. Walking back to my chair, not seeing the black grate on the darkness I walked into burning a good sized spot over my right ankle. I sat down, look at it, shook my head, and removed some of the burnt off skin. I then proceeded to tell Andrew about the different degrees of burns of which I wasn't quite sure which degree mine fell into because of the burned off skin but no blisters.
I won't go into further details because it might fall into the TMI or gross categories. What was kinda funny was the chicks dig scars talk we had. What we figured out is it depends on the scar size and location. large facial scars are not attractive... but I still think a a scar over one eye (vertical from over to under) is about as bad ass as it gets.
Now I'm just trying to the tape off of my leg which I put on for work because of having to wear boots... not fun. I didn't shave the burn part and I put tape all the way around my leg because I thought it would come off... it didn't and won't. Oh well.
Time to go read and bit and pass out.
Oh yeah, I usually don't freak out usually but I was sitting here about an hour ago and heard the weirdest sound come from the back yard and by the sound of it, it came from the tree line (less than 50 to my window in the basement). I know a lot of nature sounds but I couldn't recognize what I'll call a howl. Unless it was a coyote or a coydog with some damage to its throat I have no clue what the hell it was. I'm still a little spooked but I think whatever canine type thing it is is in the direct vicinity for the two little dogs next door in the camper. All I know is I'm sleeping light tonight.
Good night all.
