Da Shit dat 'as Been on

Biotch.

Sorry, here's some stuff that's been a-going on, dans la maison, dans l'ecole, 'round the soul I say.

I tried out with the Football Team recently. Actually, not try-out, more of join the team after cuts. They needed a kicker, so I presented myself. I sucked (though they never really tried me on that position), and so I was tried on O-line, defence, and special teams. Not only did I suck, but I found myself rapidly falling behind in school, so I decided to leave the team. Besides, new people had arrived how were vastly superior to me in skill, so the loss wasn't too bad, if bad at all. The team's currently 1-1, so they'll make the play-offs (only the worst team doesn't in Calgary). However, it was a positive experience, as I learned new things and strengthened my body somewhat.

I've almost doubled the length of my book. Friends will remember a certain book which I had been writing about 4 years ago, where most of the characters were based upon people I knew at the time. When I stopped writing it, it was around 23 pages long, single spaced in 10 font. I stopped writing because I grew tired of it. I thought it was awful - too patronising; no story, or at least coherence. However, a couple months ago I started anew. Then I stopped. Yesterday I started again. In French class, I continued. It's now 6 pages long (albeit double spaced in a notebook), but the story is still in the prologue, so at the very least I can say it is detailed, unlike its predecessor (I've spoken of this book before, so I won't mention it again). I have a very strong feeling about this book. I think it's the greatest thing I've ever done.

In addition to this, I'm also designing a game system. You may recall earlier that Trench Gidgionbok and I had discussed interscholastic paintball - well now I'm making it into a pseudo reality. I've tried it out a couple times, and it seems neat. So far, there are trucks, buggies, motorbikes, ATVs, gyrocopters and .50 cals among other things. It should be the first system I finish, there being about three other systems still in development, them being Fantasy and Historical (War of 1812 and the Northwest Rebellion). However, the latter three all share a fairly, if not complete system for themselves alltogether, with only exceptions in rules, etc. but they run a similar way. So the Paintball system is also quite fresher to me than the prior three. I'll post the rules when I'm finished. It should blow your mind. Unfortunately, it will prevent you from playing it, I expect (if you're mind explodes, that is).

Miko Mikinghamtonport is in Kuwait (he's the fellow formerly known as Cobra). He'll be returning to Canada for schooling, albeit in Nova Scotia. Stretch Armstrong is on the Senior football team, as a Tight End and back-up Slot Back. Trench Gidgionbok is starting to update his deviant art page (if he lets me, I'll leave the url). He had left his job at Papa John's, and if he chooses, may apply at the Superstore - I gave him a suggestion card today. Estragon Guildenstern (aka i_spit_fire) is in Grande Prairie still, and I haven't heard from him in two weeks. If you're reading this, e-mail me gawdamit! He is, after all, the only person who reads this. I think. Well, aside from my sister, but she only read it once.

Finally, I declare the band of LWS/LFS, finally established in theory:
Miko Mikinghamtonport - drums, keyboards
Stretch Armstrong - guitars, vocals
Estragon Guildenstern - vocals, keyboards*, harmonica*
Vladimir Rosencrantz - bass guitar, other guitar, harmonica, keyboards, strings, vocals.
*(hey, you have 'em and you can play them as well, if not better than I).
The band mascot is McDeihg the Gnome (the Gulty Gar). Actually, this hasn't been decided, but I find it likely. Estragon and I had an experience with a lawn gnome and a sedan once. If he remembers, he'll understand. Also, Miko and Stretch have really had no influence upon their names, unlike Estragon and I, so I'll have to inquire if it bothers them. Also, Miko can sing if he wants to. We really haven't determined a singer yet.

The band list brings me to some other things. I've began teaching myself how to play a little synthesizer that belongs to my sister. It's pretty badass actually. It is a hit at school, as it can pound out phat beats. I'm going to ask for a bass guitar for christmas, and likely buy myself a mandolin through Sears, so it's a start. The only thing that seems unlikely to start is the band itself, given our schedules and locations. If all else fails, Trench used to play the drums but I doubt he'd be interested.

Have a nice day,
Vladi Rosencrantz, the Offensoed
