Now I may seem nice to most, and this is how things should be. But those close to me know that most of the time, nearly everything, and often everyone, irritates me. These feelings are greatly increased when around certain people, or when placed in certain environments. But my true colors never shine brighter then when I go out on a limb, and I mean truely make an effort (which is usually rare for me) to make someone, more importantly a friend, feel better and get shit on in return.
So Amanda and I being the generous people we are (Ok, Amanda is the generous one. Undoubtedly one of the best people I know, rarely putting herself before those that mean the most to her. If I may say so myself, she is a wonderful example of a GOOD PERSON, and someone who's qualities I admire, and wish to mimick. Mucho love Manna!) Anyway, a mutual friend of ours happened to be having a spell of bad luck. We will refrain from using names, and instead refer to said persons as...SelfCenteredShitBrick, or SCSB for short. So SCSB was having a bad week and informed us that aside from, being a recent dumpee of a long term relationship, was also unfed, malnurished and had no clean clothes. This being due to the fact that the one parent he lives with is also a SelfCenteredShitBrick. Like father like son I suppose. We of course felt he needed an extra dose of fat-girl lovin' and decided a good meal was just the ticket to getting him back on track. Seeing as Lasanga was his favorite meal, and neither of us had plans, we went out of our way to make it for him. (The orriginal plan included an offer to do/teach him how to do his laundry and clean his room. Just as a treat after a week from hell. Of course the morning of, being rather lazy ourselves, we discused the fact that since neither of us even do our OWN laundry....why do his?) But we called anyway, to finalize a dinner time...and we called...and called...and called and called. About an hour before we sat down to eat, we finally got ahold of him, only to hear that he had other plans. (Some video-game tournament at another friends house. At that point I was questioning as to why I have friends that play, and even worse, participate in contests that involve video games, no offense to any gamers out there.) All this after 3 days of asking:
"So you're SURE you have no plans for Sunday, right?"
"Ugh...right...I'm free all day"
My conclusion, and point to this story is that-...well I'm not sure I have a point, or any meaningful saying to end with that everyone hasn't already heard so much that it makes your ears bleed. How about it really just pissed me off? A whole day of slaving away in a hot kitchen...actually it only took about 2 hours...and my mom helped...and the temperature of the room was pretty pleasant. Still...We went out of our way to make him feel better and he bailed...what a fucker.
