It seems warmer weather is returning already. ...At least it will be more comfortable for these new arrivals, should the trend continue.

...I'm sorry to hear about those who did not return from the draft immediately. [it hits a bit closer to home now that she's been through a draft herself]

Do we have any idea how many New Feathers have appeared so

[There are a few things about this post that catch her eye and make her pause, but it's only one of them that has her incredulously echoing it aloud, unaware that her journal caught it.]

The draft?

Then I apologize if I frightened you. ...I'm Nephry.

No, I'm sorry for intruding, [ - hmm, trying to guess at age a little here] Miss Nephry. I'm Ranka.

It's nice to meet you, Ranka. Just Nephry is fine.

It's very nice to meet you, Nephry! Um...

[does she really want to ask about this draft?]

Then... [hmhm planets, real weather, seasons] What month is it?

In this world, it's called March.

Really?

[Not that she should even be surprised by now, but - it was definitely late summer back at Frontier.

(And some part of her brain notes that this is a northern hemisphere-y sort of place, then, thank you classes on how planetary weather works)

But then she laughs it off, a bit sheepishly.]

This world really is different, isn't it? It seems like I'm always finding out about new things here! [Never mind that it's been all of a day.] But it's kind of exciting, too.

[POSITIVITY, GET.]

Exciting? In what way?

Meeting new people and seeing new things every day! I grew up in Frontier, so I'm only used to seeing what was in the city.

Reply

Ah. That's understandable. I rarely left the city I grew up in, either.

What kind of city did you live in?
