If time stops, then I have no need to worry about what is going on in Keterburg in my absence.

I can hardly place bets on that possibility.

It's certainly warm in this village now.

If last year is a proper indication, I'm sure Luceti will have very nice spring weather. Of course, this doesn't bar the possibility that the Malnosso might have something up their sleeve for this year. The weather seems to have been affected by them before.

Let's hope for the best, shall we?

I hope you're feeling better now, Nephry. Adjusting to this village can be tough for some people.

I find myself thinking that adjusting might be the whole problem.

Is that so? Are you running into any particular problems?

No. That's not what I mean. I just disagree with adjusting to this kind of life. ...It feels like giving up.

Mm, I see. While it's good to hold hope that you will return home, I don't think there is any particular harm in accepting this style of life. At least as a temporary measure. In the long run, it will make things easier.

In the end, the only thing I can do is offer my own opinion on the matter. You're free to choose as you wish.

To be the only person in this village rejecting everything that happens here would be foolish.

Ah, but if the entire village jumped off a bridge, would you follow in fear of being different? We all have to find our own way of dealing with things. I just hope that yours will be a calm one.

That's an entirely different situation. Though I can't say that voluntarily adjusting to life here won't be harmful in the long run, it might not, whereas jumping off the bridge...

I don't think of myself as the irrational sort, Professor.

The bridge was symbolical, actually. However, if you feel that you will not take any irrational decisions whatsoever for the sake of blending in, that's exactly the point I was trying to make.
