Gabe and I returned late last night. Somebody once told me that for as many time zones you've crossed, that's how many days your body takes to recover from jet lag. In any case, I'm doing well. My meetings with the BBC didn't turn out as fruitful as I'd hoped, but I was told there might be some opportunities opening up in 2009. Nothing definite, although, I'm not sure I'd want to leave New York, now. After so many years of living here, it's become home. Besides, I have some things opening up here that will keep me busy enough.
At Warner Brothers' studio, Gabe and I were given a small tour of the set of Slughorn's home, the one at the beginning of the book that looks as though Death Eaters have ransacked the place. They weren't doing any filming when we were there, but in makeup room, we met Dave Legeno, the actor who plays Fenrir Greyback. He was getting his prosthetics worked on the same time as mine, although his were already done, and he was just being fitted.
While we were sitting in our chairs, the conversation turned to the popularity of Harry Potter, and while I knew it was big, I didn't realize just how big it was. After we were finished, for a lark we went online where Dave showed me all the different websites devoted to the books. They even have games where people role play the different characters. I'm bringing this up because while I was randomly looking around, I happened to find somebody who's using screencaps of me when I was in Much Ado for their character. It's a little embarrassing and weird at the same time. It's like being cast for a role I didn't audition for. I would've thought they'd use Gary Oldman for Sirius Black. Wasn't Sirius dead? No, in this game he escaped from the other side of the veil, where evidently he's been slaying demons all this time. He used to be in love with Remus... I can see that... but they broke up and now he's in love with a character named Romilda Vane. Which character was she? Here, let me show you the site.
